RFID

RFID shares an idea with the bar code: a label that identifies an object. But the tag answers by radio, so a reader can capture hundreds of items at once, through packaging and without a line of sight.

An RFID system has three parts - the tag, the reader with its antenna, and the software that makes sense of each read.
